Our favourite web video of the week is this short film by Bruno Miotto called Nick Fouquet – We are all mad here. This is another brilliant example of having some fun with a product video and trying to extend it beyond what its selling (which happens to be hats!). It’s a simple story about a hat maker called Nick Fouquet who is full of character and definitely the man you would like to crash into if you were walking on Abbot Kinney, Venice, California. We think its a great video – light hearted, funny and an full of some great Alice in Wonderland references. Essentially it’s promoting a clothing company (Hogan Rebel), but does this by focusing on Nicks character and profession. The video is not just trying to sell a style but a way of thinking, underlining the clothing brands core values of being fresh and unusual, “look at my hat.. this is me.. I’m different”.
The video was directed and edited by Bruno Miotto, originally born in Italy he relocated to Los Angeles in 2008 to follow his passion for film making. Anyway, there is not much else to say except watch the video and see for yourself!
